MacOS, Safari
This can be done by clicking the Apple Menu on the upper left corner of the screen's menu bar and choosing Software Update.
Firefox
The browser is usually set up to automatically detect for updates. To manually check for updates, click the Help menu at the top of the Firefox window on the menu bar, and select Check for Updates.
Google Chrome
The browser automatically updates itself, even if it is closed. If the browser is open at the time, the update will not be complete until you close and restart the browser. To see if a manual update is available, click on the Tools Menu (wrench icon) and select About Google Chrome. If a update is available, an update button will be displayed.
Adobe Flash Player
The player is usually set up to automatically check for updates within its
Settings Manager. To manually check for updates, you may

Real Media Player
The player is usually set up to automatically check for updates. click the Tools menu at the top of the Real Media Player window on the menu bar, and select Check for Update.
